God is a Spirit, So Are We

Has anyone asked you 'If God is real then why don't we see him?" I have heard so many of those questions. In fact there is a time I asked God, "You know this question is genuine, so if you are real how come we don't see you in person". I was l ed to 2 Corinthians 3:17, John 4:17. God is a spirit that,s why He can,t be seen. And we are created in God's likeliness, so we are a spirit. What we see is not us, it is a body, it,s like a machine that God gave us to move effectively on this earth. We also have a soul that is made of mind and feelings.  The spirit in us and the body are always in constant war with each wanting to dominate the other. The mind goes with whichever is powerful. You will overcome this world if your spirit is stronger than the body. But for the spirit to be strong you need to feed it through listening to and studying the word of God, reading Christian books, praise n worshiping God and praying daily. What happens to our bodies...

The Battle of Jericho

Joshua 6:1:27 Bishop Adipo always insisted we should not read the bible like a story book but we should try and put ourselves in the shoes of those in the story. Joshua 6:1-27 narrates the story of how Israelites under the leadership of Joshua won the battle over the army of Jericho when the walls of Jericho broke down. This happened when Joshua was instructed lead the Israelites in matching around Jericho wall once every day but on the seventh day they were to match seven times, and on the seventh round they were to shout and praise the Lord. The amazing miracle happened; the famous strong and thick wall of Jericho came tumbling down. Let’s think about it literally. Joshua is our leader and we are supposed to conquer the city of Jericho. But the history says it is impossible to go through the famous wall of Jericho because its height is like a four storey building and so wide that the chariots rally are taking place on it (in our case it would be safari rally). It could hav...

Don't Be Suprised with Government Leaders Behaviours

I don't get suprised when presidents and all leaders of a nation turn out not be promising after elections. God already told Israelites in 1 Samuel 8 when they asked for a king which in our case is a president, governor, senator etc. This is what God warned them about earthly leaders. And we should all learn so that we are guided by God in choosing leaders and stop doing it on tribal lines: 1. Th e king will take your sons and daughters to work for him. 2.“He will take your fields and your vineyards (lands), even the best of them, and give them to his servants” (v. 14). 3.The king will take a tenth of the things you grow to eat and give them to his officers and servants. 4.He will take the best of your servants and donkeys to work for him. 5.He will also take a tenth of your sheep, and turn you into his servants. Do you see anything familiar from this in the leadership today?

Make Prayer Simple but Pray

Prayers move mountains but if you don't pray then don't expect mountains to be moved.Don't wait for someone else to pray for u, as you may wait for a long time. You are the only one who knows what is in your heart and tell it to God as it is. I believe there are instances when you need someone to pray for you. But you can't leave it entirely to someone else to pray for you while you sit. There are instances I tell people to pray for me especially my spiritual mother, but I make it a point to pray myself and study the Word of God.  I believe I can hear from God when I have an intimate relationship with Him.His Word has everything covered it.I dont believe I should wait for people to tell me what God says about my life. When Jesus died and rose from death, we were brought closer to God, who loves us.If we repent, He forgives us.If we ask, He gives us.He can listen to anyone who seeks Him (John 14:14) . If God sends someone the better if He doesn't I be...

Ask for Help

"But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you" ( John 14:26) When I learnt that God had made things easy for me by sending me the Holy Spirit as a Helper I decided to make use of Him. I decided to try Him out and the results have made me make it an every time thing. I avoid stress or situations that may drive me to scratch my head by simply asking for His help. I ask for the Holy Spirit's help to cross the road especially when it's a highway and he creates a leeway. I ask Him to move the traffic and it happens. I ask Him to remind me where I have misplaced things and He does. I ask Him to help me come up with a good design, with a creative idea. Marketing is my career and I ask Him to reveal to me the most secrets of Marketing no one has ever used and He has. I ask Him to help me review my day and with my interaction with people and I a...

The Devine Role of a Woman as a Help Meet (Helper)

Since time immemorial women have been perceived to be created for the sake of helping a man.  “ And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him” (Genesis 2:18, KJV) .    I think this term ‘help meet’ has frequently been understood.   In many parts of the world women are seen as helpers at home; keeping the house clean, bearing and taking care of children, cooking for the husband, and washing clothes among others. As I was growing up I studied this verse more often and searched throughout the bible and I didn’t find a verse where women were specifically assigned   ‘the kitchen’.   So who came up with the idea that women’s place is in the kitchen? In all other areas of a man’s life is the kitchen the only place he needs help? Doesn’t he have other areas he needs to be assisted or supported? The term ‘help meet’ can be interpreted to mean Eve was given to Adam as a helper worthy of hi...
