The sky is the limit....
I have the passion of seeing people advance in their careers. I my endeavors
of providing career guidance to people I have met many who have not pursued their career of what I would say 'lack of knowledge' or just laying back doing nothing. Recently I have handled a case where someone got a B- in KCSE in 2010 reason being he didn't qualify to enter university through JAB and he didn't have any or enough money to pursue a degree. Who told you that you must go through JAB to enter university? The good news is that parallel programmes in public universities and many private universities are saving lives. Regarding school fees Higher Education Loan Board gives loans and bursaries if you have a C+ and above. All you need to do is to get an admission letter. I'll share with ways in which I have pursued my higher education:
1. First go round the universities and ask for the course you are interested in.
2. Once you get the university and the course apply (Don't worry about school fees at this point)
3. Once you get the admission letter visit HELB and apply for education loan.
4. If you have little money somewhere don't worry about the 210,000 Shillings you need to pay for the whole year. Concentrate first about the amount or half the amount of the first semester. Once you start classes with the little you have believe it or not God will do the rest. I have seen many succeed in this way
5. Consider taking part time classes so that you have the rest of the day to look for work so that you can continue funding for your school fees.
Nothing comes on a silver plata my friends but hard work and determination in God will give you greater results. At least get an admission letter and bring it before God. Tell Him, 'Dear Lord, Here is my admission letter to the university, please give me school fees'. See if He will not do it. But God will never come from Heaven Himself and apply for admission on your behalf.
If you didn't qualify for a degree because you had a lower grade that shouldn't stop you either from achieving your dreams. If you have a C plain then you should enroll for a Diploma 1 year or 1 and a half years and then move to a degree. If you go less that C then go and start with a certificate and advanced certificate, then go to a diploma, then a degree, then masters and before you know it you will studying PHD. The sky is the limit
