Lessons we can learn from children (Part 2)

This is a continuation of Part 1. Below are more lessons we can learn from children.

Unwavering faith/Believe
Children are not conversant with deception, betrayal or lies because they have a pure heart. They believe all things are possible and believe anything. We need to learn to have unwavering faith God that nothing is impossible to God and He will do what He says He will do.  Hebrews 11:16 says And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek Him”.

No fear
Children may fear falling or loud noise in their first stages of development but as they grow they learn to trust especially in their parents. They don’t fear rejection, failure or what people might think of them. When a child climbs a high place and the father or mother tells him to jump he does not hesitate and doubt the ability of the father to catch him. The child jumps excitedly in his parents’ arms because he has trust in them that they won’t let him fall. We need to trust in God in everything and not to fear. Isaiah 41:10 says So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous”.

Children play and laugh
Yes children play, laugh, dance and sing but us adults we are too serious. Yes life is demanding with careers, family responsibilities, ministry, and jobs and so on but let us not overrule the fact that life can be fun. Create time to play and laugh just as you used to when you were a child. This will not take away your maturity! Psalms 33:3 says “Sing to the Lord a new song; play skillfully, and SHOUT FOR JOY”

The sense of wonder/Amazement
The life of children is filled with fun and excitement because of curiosity and sense of wonder they carry. They see new things every day and have a desire to learn, and so they keep asking parents many questions. As adults we should always look at life in awe or amazement. Let us not take everything like is ‘as usual’. Pause for a moment and be amazed at the stars, the sun, the moon, yourself and the creation at large. Watch the birds, the insects, the animals and think about how they were created, how they live and so on. This will ignite a sense of joy and excitement in you. Exodus 15:11 says "Who is like You among the gods, O LORD? Who is like You, majestic in holiness, Awesome in praises, working wonders?”

Taking Naps
Children are always energized, wake up with renewed strengths and refreshed. Children takes naps more often and that is why they are smiling and happy most of the time. As adults if we get tired physically, emotionally and mentally we will be affected spiritually. It is prudent to take a quick nap within your busy schedule of even 20 to 30 minutes to refresh your mind and renew your strength. Psalms 127:2 MSG says “God enjoys giving rest to those He loves”.

Nothing Leaves God’s Hand until Something Leaves Your Hand

Give Generously The principle of giving and receiving is as real as the law of gravity and law of attraction. It is a formulae to especially financial blessing. You cannot change a laid down formulae. Just like when you add 2+2 you get 4 and not 8 you cannot receive without giving.   Luke 6:38 says ”GIVE, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your lap. For with the same measure that you measure it shall be measured to you again”.   When you give people also give back to you and God will ensure that you receive in double portion. According to Revelation 18:6 , you will be given back what you have given and you will be paid back double what you have done. The awesome thing about God is the principle of giving and receiving is the same as the principle of sowing and reaping or harvesting.   When you give   it comes back to you multiplied. If you plant one seed of maize you will...

God Always Has a Greater Plan for You

My ten months old son throws tantrums every time I snatch something from his hand that I know is dangerous if he continues playing with. Everything that he comes across he wants to put in his mouth including dirty shoes and sharp objects. He wants to play with the socket but I know that is dangerous and so I don’t allow him to play with it. He throws tantrums and cries because he thinks I am denying something good from him. But I know everything that seems attractive to him is not good and some are dangerous. Putting dirty shoes in his mouth may cause diarrhea, sharp objects may prick him and sockets may electrify him. He may cry all he wants but as a mother who loves him I will not give him something that will hurt him. In the same way, we as the children of God we have desires and things we want to have, and we believe God to give us those things. Sometimes we don’t get what we have prayed for or what we desire from God simply not because He doesn’t want us to have them, but ...

Women Christian Men Should Never Marry

Last time I talked about “Christian WomenShould Never Marry These Men” . Today it’s time to bring to limelight the women Christian women should never marry. Marriage is not a place you want to try and see if things will work but it is a lifetime commitment. It is the will of God that two married people live together happily ever after until death does them apart. However, choices lead to consequences which may either be positive or negative. The kind of a woman you choose as a wife will either make you live happily or will become a disaster to you. I may not exhaust everything but the following are the types of women Christian men should never marry. 1.     The Unbeliever I reminded women that 2 Corinthians 6:14 say “Do not be yoked with unbelievers, what business righteousness and lawlessness or what does light with darkness have in common? This means whether a woman or a man you should not marry an unbeliever. A wife who loves Jesus more than you is what you ...
