A Life pleasing to God

Romans 12: 1-21

Romans 12:1-21 explains the kind of life God expects us to live according to His perfect will. This kind of life requires us to die of self and take up the life of Christ. Our own self demands us to look at what our body or flesh desires. More often we can become selfish and only consider what is of interest of us and not others. Our flesh would want to dwell in sin but God wants us to put on the life of Christ and live a life that is according to his perfect will as follows:
  1. Your love for God and others must be sincere
  2. Hold on to wat is good
  3. Hate what is evil
  4. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love
  5. Honor one another above yourselves
  6. Never be lazy but work hard
  7. Serve the Lord your God with a heart full of devotion
  8. Be joyful in hope-let your joy keep  you joyful
  9. Be patient in your troubles
  10. Be faithful in prayer- pray at all times
  11. Share with God’s people who are in need-Be generous
  12. Practice hospitality
  13. Bless those who persecute you, bless and do not curse
  14. Mourn with those who morn and rejoice with those who rejoice
  15. Live in harmony with one another-have the same concerns with everyone
  16. Do not be proud but be willing to associate with people of low position. Accept humble duties.
  17. Do not think of yourself as wise.
  18. Do not repay evil for evil
  19. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody.
  20. If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
  21. Do not be overcome by evil, but instead overcome evil with good.
  22. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind

Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought to. Be modesty in your thinking and judge yourself according to the amount of faith that God has given you.
The above checklist should help you search within yourself by the help of the Holy Spirit where you are missing the mark. May the Holy Spirit help us live a life that is pleasing before our Almighty God.

Nothing Leaves God’s Hand until Something Leaves Your Hand

Give Generously The principle of giving and receiving is as real as the law of gravity and law of attraction. It is a formulae to especially financial blessing. You cannot change a laid down formulae. Just like when you add 2+2 you get 4 and not 8 you cannot receive without giving.   Luke 6:38 says ”GIVE, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your lap. For with the same measure that you measure it shall be measured to you again”.   When you give people also give back to you and God will ensure that you receive in double portion. According to Revelation 18:6 , you will be given back what you have given and you will be paid back double what you have done. The awesome thing about God is the principle of giving and receiving is the same as the principle of sowing and reaping or harvesting.   When you give   it comes back to you multiplied. If you plant one seed of maize you will...

God Always Has a Greater Plan for You

My ten months old son throws tantrums every time I snatch something from his hand that I know is dangerous if he continues playing with. Everything that he comes across he wants to put in his mouth including dirty shoes and sharp objects. He wants to play with the socket but I know that is dangerous and so I don’t allow him to play with it. He throws tantrums and cries because he thinks I am denying something good from him. But I know everything that seems attractive to him is not good and some are dangerous. Putting dirty shoes in his mouth may cause diarrhea, sharp objects may prick him and sockets may electrify him. He may cry all he wants but as a mother who loves him I will not give him something that will hurt him. In the same way, we as the children of God we have desires and things we want to have, and we believe God to give us those things. Sometimes we don’t get what we have prayed for or what we desire from God simply not because He doesn’t want us to have them, but ...

Women Christian Men Should Never Marry

Last time I talked about “Christian WomenShould Never Marry These Men” . Today it’s time to bring to limelight the women Christian women should never marry. Marriage is not a place you want to try and see if things will work but it is a lifetime commitment. It is the will of God that two married people live together happily ever after until death does them apart. However, choices lead to consequences which may either be positive or negative. The kind of a woman you choose as a wife will either make you live happily or will become a disaster to you. I may not exhaust everything but the following are the types of women Christian men should never marry. 1.     The Unbeliever I reminded women that 2 Corinthians 6:14 say “Do not be yoked with unbelievers, what business righteousness and lawlessness or what does light with darkness have in common? This means whether a woman or a man you should not marry an unbeliever. A wife who loves Jesus more than you is what you ...
