God's Plea for Kenya

A few days ago I came across a forward on Whatsapp about  Kenyan Pastor who God recently talked to and asked him to warn Kenyans  of an forthcoming disaster if they would not pray and repent. Thinking about it I knew from the events in the Bible that God always meant what He said. Gracious Him when we do as He says (pray and repent) He always keeps His Word (forgive and lift the curse).

This morning as I was reading the book of Jeremiah I realized it was full of warnings to the people of Israel. There were certain things that Israel did that God was angry about and the reason for Him sending a disaster. Those things are similar to what is going on in Kenya right now. It is better as Kenyans to know what do we do that makes GOD angry enough to send a disaster, so that we may turn away from them, pray and repent.

  1. We have abandoned God, offered sacrifices to other gods, have made idols and worshipped them(i.e from fortune tellers, witch doctors, witches etc)- Jeremiah 1:16
  2. Both  great and make money dishonestly (corruption, lying, deceiving, false scales etc)- Jeremiah 6:13a
  3. We have rejected God's authority and refused to obey Him and Worship Him (Jeremiah 3:20)
  4. Prophets and priests (ministers) cheat God's people- Jeremiah 6:13b
  5. We have rejected God's way (Jeremiah 6:16)
  6. No one has been sorry for his/her wickedness- Jeremiah  6:13b
  7. Dishonest stewards have changed the law (for their own benefit)- Jeremiah 8:8
  8. The wise have fallen into the trap of evil and rejected God's Word - Jeremiah 8:9
  9. We have rejected God's servants whom He has sent to us, became stubborn and rebellious - Jeremiah 7:25-26
  10. We do  one evil after the other without stopping (Jeremiah 9:3b)
  11. We have abandoned the teaching God gave us- Jeremiah 9:13
  12. We are deceitful to our brothers and sisters- Jeremiah 9:4b
  13. We slander our friends- Jeremiah 9:4c
  14. We mislead our friends and we don't tell the truth (Jeremiah 9:5)
But the good news!!! God is ready to forgive us and bless us if we turn back to him.

"If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land"- 2 Chronicles 7:14

God Always Has a Greater Plan for You

My ten months old son throws tantrums every time I snatch something from his hand that I know is dangerous if he continues playing with. Everything that he comes across he wants to put in his mouth including dirty shoes and sharp objects. He wants to play with the socket but I know that is dangerous and so I don’t allow him to play with it. He throws tantrums and cries because he thinks I am denying something good from him.
