Proverbs 26: 27- "If you set a trap for others, you will get caught in it yourself. If you roll a boulder down on others, it will crush you instead."
Now the bible has interesting stories and lessons all together. Now this man called Haman in the Book of Esther is a typical human being like we Kenyans. He is the prime minister (deputy president) in the King Xierxier's Kingdom. He is proud and because of his high position thinks everybody should kneel and bow before him when he is passing. But Modercai would not bow before him, because He only bows to God of Israel. This makes Haman furious and his wife and his friends advice him to kill Modercai if it will make him feel better. Haman thinks it is a good idea (seriously?). But then he isn't satisfied of killing Modercai alone, he wants to kill the whole tribe of Modercai the Jews and so tricks the king into issue a decree of killing the Jews on a particular date. And note: the king's stamped declaration is irreversible. What he has written is written, what is declared is declared, not even himself can reverse ! ( this is where I love God Almighty, He is merciful and can reverse His decree by His mercy).
But there is something that Haman doesn't know and was foolish enough not to investigate: That the queen (the first lady of the king) is a Jew and is among those he has declared to be killed. Queen Esther wouldn't let her people and herself die and so proclaims a 3 day dry fast among the Jews in the Kingdom and her servants in the palace, to attain favour in approaching the king. When the king saw Esther in his inner court he stretched his golden scepter to her to show that she had attained his favour, and wanted to know what was disturbing Esther. Despite the burning issue Esther did not burst it out but instead requested the king and his deputy Haman to attend the two-day party she had prepared for them (a lesson we need to learn here married women. Let's wait for an appropriate time before approaching our men with issues, especially if we need them to buy our ideas).
On the second day of the party Esther tells the king the plan his deputy Haman of killing her and her people. Haman is astonished (foolish for not investigating first). The king is furious, why would his second hand mand want to kill his first lady and her people? Haman knows for sure this means death for him and pleads with queen Esther to spare her life. Now while reading this, I also became furious. (Haman pleading to have his life spared. What about those Jews who pleaded their lives to be spared and he didn't listen. Was his life important than their's? Why does the shoe hurt so bad on our feet than on other people's feet? I am still furious so let me move on so that I don't dwell on it). And the night before the second-day party, Haman had been adviced by his friends and wife to build a gallow 20-metres to hung modercai .
While this gallow is being built the same time, the King is not able to sleep and so he orders a book of record of remembrance to be read ( i think to pass time, or to help him dose off). Then the part where Modercai saved the king's life was read and the King wanted to know if Modercai was awarded for that, it was found out that nothing was done to honor him. The king requested if one of his officials was still around to honour modercai. Coincidentally Haman had come to see the king, but with an intention of getting his consent to hung Modercai, but before he could give his request the king commanded him to honor Modercai in the most royal way! (Please note these things happened at the same night. When Haman was planning to kill Modercai the same night the king was planning to honour modercai. This sounds more like spiritual warfare in the night). Fast Forward: when the king discovered that Haman was planning to kill his first lady and her people plus Modercai the man who had saved the king's life, he ordered Haman to be hunged on the same gallow he wanted to hung Modercai. Esther and her people were saved. Modercai was promoted from the gateman to the top official in the king's kingdom.

Lessons to learn:
- The same traps the enemies are setting for you they will fall in them themselves
- Think before you hurt others, reverse the case to yourself first and fit into the shoes, you never know how things may turn around
- Love and mind everybody, you do not know everybody you are dealing with .
- God is the creator of all, you do not have to stumble on anyone to get what you want, everybody has his or her own God given share.
